The Omni Homestead Resort: Wedding Venue and Destination Full of Wonderful Memories
I just love the Omni Homestead Resort. I’ve had the privilege to photograph many weddings and sessions here over the years. The Omni Homestead is just the sort of place that urges you to linger, take a deep breath, and savor your time. Nestled deep in the Alleghany Mountains just outside of Roanoke, Virginia in the town of Hot Springs- people have been drawn here to relax since the 1700’s. The resort itself is a destination worthy of the visit. However, the natural hot springs in town are their own attraction that led to the tourism of the area.
Olivia has been coming to the Homestead with her family for Christmas her whole life. And it is full of wonderful memories and nostalgia. It’s so easy to see why Olivia would see this as the perfect place for their memorable day.

Olivia and Rhett’s gorgeous day was full of so many beautiful details. For starters, they had an exquisite floral installation made to welcome guests into their classical ballroom reception. Walking into the ballroom, a long head table was laid nestled between the arches and roman columns of the room, lined in silver candelabras and tall floral arrangements. Giant florals welcomed guests to the seating cards as well as the circular bar. There was also a beautiful illustration of the iconic Homestead Resort woven into the many paper goods of the day.
But we haven’t even talked about the gorgeous wedding fashions yet! Olivia’s sleek and simply silhouetted gown showcased her figure in a gorgeous textured white jacquard pattern which she topped with a long veil. Her mom was her own vibe as well. She wore a fun and stylish Monique Lhullier gown with a veiled shawl around her shoulders.
European Ballroom Reception with Concert Style Band
Olivia and Rhett’s reception in the Grand Ballroom of the Homestead Resort (also known as the Dining Room) was absolutely incredible. However, to top that off, they hired on an incredible full band to perform. The band members were dressed to the nines in sequins and brocade jackets, and the music was so good. So good in fact, that Olivia and Rhett stayed front and center on the dance floor, even dancing on stage until their final confetti gun sendoff.
Documentary Wedding Photographer with Elegant Style and Drone Coverage
Olivia and Rhett’s incredible day was captured in our classic and timeless natural style. Giving gentle direction while allowing people to fully live in and enjoy the moments of their wedding day is our favorite way to do things. My second photographer was able to capture some epic drone photos during the day as well.
