“I can’t speak highly enough about Michelle! After chatting with Michelle once, I knew I needed her photographing our wedding weekend. Michelle is kind, caring, thoughtful and unbelievably talented. Our wedding day was extremely chaotic and Michelle was the calming force behind it all + we have the most incredible, stunning and in the moment wedding photos I couldn’t have ever dreamed of. Our wedding was less than four months ago and we already have our photo album ordered through Michelle. She created the most amazing curation that represented our experience in the best way possible and so fast! I HIGHLY recommend Michelle for anyone, anywhere and any occasion!!!”

Ceremony time! Sam and Kevin said their vows under a gorgeous chuppah overlooking the Atlantic ocean

The newlyweds enjoy a few minutes alone as the sun sets before dining and dancing the night away with their ~300 guests

These photos were taken in the span of approximately 5-10 minutes and that is all that we needed in this perfect light and setting. Sam and Kevin prioritized savoring and being a part of their wedding day and I am all for that

We then entered into their absolutely jaw dropping oceanside tented reception on top of the Gurney’s Resort patio full of towering crystal candelabras and gold lamps…

Thank you so much Sam and Kevin for asking us to be a part of this incredible day with you and your guests! Love you all so very much!

Sam & Kevin | Gurney’s Montauk Wedding in the Fall | A Luxury Long Island Wedding Photographer Story

If you’re searching for a Gurney’s Montauk wedding, a Montauk wedding photographer, or a Long Island wedding photographer, Sam and Kevin’s elegant fall celebration at Gurney’s Resort & Seawater Spa in Montauk, NY is the perfect example of timeless coastal luxury done right.

Their wedding weekend was filled with intentional design, soft ocean light, modern simplicity, and emotional moments that felt effortless from beginning to end. From their rehearsal dinner overlooking the Atlantic to their sunset portraits on the beach, every part of the weekend felt connected to the beauty of Montauk itself.

As a Montauk wedding photographer, weddings like this are exactly why I love photographing along the coast — where natural light, ocean air, and thoughtful design come together in a way that feels both elevated and deeply personal.

A Luxury Fall Wedding at Gurney’s Montauk Resort

There are few venues on the East Coast as iconic as Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa, especially for couples planning a luxury destination wedding on Long Island.

Perched right on the Atlantic Ocean, Gurney’s offers sweeping coastal views, modern architecture, and a feeling of quiet exclusivity that makes it one of the most sought-after wedding venues in Montauk.

Sam and Kevin chose Gurney’s for exactly that reason — they wanted something elegant, modern, and simple, but still deeply connected to the natural beauty of the ocean.

Their fall wedding weekend brought soft coastal winds, golden light, and that unmistakable Montauk atmosphere that feels both relaxed and refined.

A Danielle Frankel Wedding Dress & Modern Bridal Style

One of the most striking elements of the day was Sam’s bridal look.

She wore a breathtaking Danielle Frankel wedding gown, paired with delicate statement earrings that perfectly complemented the modern, fashion-forward aesthetic of the day.

Danielle Frankel is known for her architectural bridal designs — minimal, intentional, and sculptural — and Sam’s look fit seamlessly into the design direction of the wedding.

Her style set the tone for everything that followed: clean, elegant, modern, and timeless.

A Jewish Ceremony on the Top Deck at Gurney’s Montauk

Sam and Kevin were married in a beautiful outdoor Jewish ceremony under the chuppah on the Top Deck at Gurney’s Montauk.

With the Atlantic Ocean stretching behind them, the ceremony felt both sacred and expansive — a perfect balance of tradition and coastal openness.

The chuppah stood as a meaningful focal point against the natural backdrop of Montauk’s shoreline, and the wind carried an energy that made the entire moment feel alive.

As a Gurney’s Montauk wedding photographer, this ceremony location is one of my favorites — not just because of the view, but because of how real and emotional ceremonies feel in that setting.

Cocktail Hour at the Dune Lounge

Following the ceremony, guests moved into cocktail hour at the Dune Lounge, one of Gurney’s most stylish and relaxed spaces.

With ocean views, curated cocktails, and warm fall light filtering through the space, it was the perfect transition between ceremony and reception.

Guests mingled, celebrated, and took in the coastal atmosphere while Sam and Kevin spent time together enjoying the first moments of their wedding day as newlyweds.

Elegant Reception on the Spa Deck Under the Tent

As the sun set, the celebration continued at the Spa Deck at Gurney’s Montauk, where a beautifully designed tent transformed the space into an intimate and glowing reception environment.

The design, led by Lawrence Scott Events, brought together a modern yet romantic aesthetic that perfectly matched the couple’s vision.

Long tables, soft candlelight, and statement gold lamps and chandeliers created an atmosphere that felt warm, sophisticated, and cinematic as night fell over Montauk.

Every detail felt intentional, yet effortless — the kind of design that enhances the space without overpowering it.

Wedding Planning & Design by Lawrence Scott Events

A huge part of what made this Gurney’s Montauk wedding so seamless was the incredible work of Lawrence Scott Events, who led both planning and design.

Their approach combined clean modern styling with thoughtful guest experience, ensuring that every transition throughout the wedding weekend felt natural and elevated.

From the ceremony layout to the reception design under the tent, every detail was carefully curated to complement the coastal setting of Gurney’s while still feeling personal to Sam and Kevin.

Working alongside planners like Lawrence Scott Events always elevates the photography experience — because when design and logistics are handled so beautifully, the focus stays exactly where it should be: on the couple and their story.

Florals by Jenny Wildflower

The floral design by Jenny Wildflower added softness, texture, and natural movement throughout the entire wedding.

The florals complemented the coastal environment of Montauk perfectly — organic, elegant, and never overdone.

From the ceremony chuppah to the reception tablescapes, the floral design helped tie together the modern aesthetic with the natural beauty of the oceanfront setting.

Beach Portraits at Sunset in Montauk

One of the most memorable parts of the day was stepping away from the celebration for portraits along the beach.

Earlier in the day, we captured first look and wedding party photos with the fresh Atlantic breeze, where everything felt light, candid, and full of anticipation.

Later that evening, we returned for sunset newlywed portraits on the beach in Montauk, where the light softened into warm golden tones over the water.

These moments are often where some of the most timeless images come to life — when everything slows down and the focus becomes simply being present together.

A Rehearsal Dinner at Gurney’s Seawater Spa

The wedding weekend began the night before with a beautiful rehearsal dinner at Gurney’s Resort & Seawater Spa.

This was a wonderful opportunity to meet Sam and Kevin’s closest family and friends in a relaxed setting before the wedding day.

Documenting rehearsal dinners is one of my favorite parts of destination weddings — it adds context, emotion, and storytelling depth to the entire weekend experience.

By the time the wedding day arrived, everything already felt natural and connected.

A Montauk Wedding Photographer’s Perspective

As a Montauk wedding photographer and Long Island wedding photographer, Gurney’s is one of those rare venues that offers everything in one place — ocean views, modern architecture, luxury accommodations, and a complete wedding weekend experience.

Sam and Kevin’s wedding was a perfect example of how powerful simplicity can be when paired with intentional design, beautiful light, and a deeply personal story.

Their wedding was not about excess — it was about elegance, connection, and presence.
