Nearly every single wedding includes several portraits- from family photos, to wedding parties, to individual and friend photos.

Many of these are assumed, however we’ll reach out before your wedding to ensure that we know all the group photo lists desired for your day and to make sure we know all your preferences and everything important to you. The only time family photos and portraits aren’t a part of the wedding day is when the couple specifically requests so.

To us, portraits don’t have to be made up of stiff, boring poses. We prefer to infuse a bit of personality and interaction for natural and authentic portraits. Some of the images in this gallery may even appear to be fully candid. However, every single image shown here was a result of our gentle guidance and interaction/ synergy with our couple.

Certainly, we’re very confident in capturing gorgeous candids, and our greatest goal is to ensure that you’re fully able to enjoy your day as much as possible with your loved ones. But we’re just as comfortable in giving direction that feels natural and grounded in the moment when you need it. We always want you to look and feel your best. (And yes, we will fix your train or your hair when needed, or edit any blemishes out, etc)

Naturally, we get photos of people looking at the camera as part of each portrait sequence. However, we also believe that great portraits can be in movement or looking away- and we incorporate a bit of that into our photos in addition to the classic portraits when possible.

Prior to the wedding or session, we will also thoroughly scout the location- even if we’ve been there many times before. This way, we know exactly where to take you for your portraits for the very best lighing and backdrops. Which adds that extra bit of magic to our photos.
