The Oaks at Salem Wedding in Autumn | Alex + Andrew
Autumn outdoor wedding ceremony at The Oaks at Salem
“Shelley is a magician. From the moment I saw her pictures on Instagram, I knew that I needed her to photograph our engagement and wedding pictures. The engagement photos captured every little bit of our relationship. My favorite part is that most of the pictures taken are candid’s, so you’re not posed in every picture. Shelley is so amazing that we even hired her separately for a family photoshoot that came out better than we could ever imagine.”- Alex and Andrew
I had so much fun photographing these guys’ wedding at the Oaks at Salem last fall. Alex and Andrew (aka Pep) are completely goofy and hilarious. I actually had the chance to photograph an engagement session with them as well as a family session when Alex’s parents and sisters came into town and we all lined up with the same wacky sense of humor. We particularly bonded over our mutual love of Schitt’s Creek. Alex and Andrew even taught me a new photo pose which they call “bass face” which you will see below (also, its bass as in the face a fish would make fyi).
Anyways, these guys thrive because they basically just make each other laugh all day, which is absolute goals. Their wedding at The Oaks at Salem in Apex, North Carolina (just outside of Raleigh) ended up taking place on the most perfect autumn day. I loved the fall colors incorporated into the dusty roses and the textures of the nutty dates mixed in. They had their first looks and ceremony outdoors next to the pond and their reception under the tent by the house. Overall, just an amazing day with some amazing people.
