The Carolina Inn Weddings Guide:
Chapel Hill Wedding Venue
Congratulations! My guess is that if you’re reading this, you are planning a wedding at The Carolina Inn! The Carolina Inn is such a lovely wedding venue. As a wedding photographer, I have been lucky enough to photograph here several times, and each time is such a joy. Located in Chapel Hill, its location is close to UNC and the adorable downtown area. Perhaps you went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and this place brings back mostagic memories for you? But even if you didn’t go to UNC, The Carolina Inn is a gorgeous destination all its own.
Classical Vibe and Atmosphere for a Timeless Wedding Outdoors
I just adore the very classical atmosphere and decor of the Carolina Inn. From the outside, you can see that this is place full of class. First there are the columns. Then, the strong red bricks. Furthermore, the landscaping is full of gorgeous trimmed hedges and flowering plants. All of these make even the outdoor areas of the Carolina Inn absolutely beautiful all year round.
Below you can see the location where wedding ceremonies are held on the side lawn in front of the columned doorway. This view takes my breath away every time.
Luxurious Accommodations and Reception Rooms Inside
Then, just head inside and you will see even more beauty! I just love the wallpaper of the Inn along with the classic checkered black and white tiles. And your guests will appreciated how beautifully the Lobby area is decorated too.
Most commonly, when couple’s plan their wedding at the Carolina in, they hold their reception in the Old Well Wing or the Old Well Ballroom. However, I have also photographed in the Hill Ballroom and Chancellors Ballroom and those are beautiful as well. Those areas are also quite spacious, and feature luxuriously patterned carpets. One major difference is that The Old Well Wing has the black and white checkered tiles. Additionally, another room that couples sometimes use at the Carolin Inn is called the Sunroom. The Sunroom is a lovely window lined room that is perfect for signing the Ketubah or Marriage License.
