Classic Carolina Inn Wedding with Jewish Ceremony

What have we learned after photographing this wedding? We LOVE the Carolina Inn! So much symmetry, color, and beautiful classic architecture. Katie and DJ had both their ceremony and reception at the Carolina Inn- a lovely Chapel Hill venue located right off the UNC campus. Katie wowed in a sleek BHLDN gown covered in delicate beads and sheer lace. Her bridesmaids wore navy and pink. Katie and DJ did their first look in the sunny hallway just outside of the ceremony room. While they had planned an outdoor ceremony on the lawn, mother nature had her own ideas. Instead, these two were wed under a hoopah made from Katie’s mother’s wedding dress in the Carolina Inn’s beautiful pastel ballroom. It was a truly lovely jewish ceremony!

Afterward, Katie and DJ joined their guests for an elegant reception at the Carolina Inn. Their beautiful cake was created by Sugarland in Chapel Hill and everything was wonderfully planned by their wedding planner, Sally Oakley. DJ works in the music industry, so reception music was undoubtedly a big choice for them. However, when it comes to being awesome, these two hit the nail right on the head- they hired a Johnny Cash cover band, the Johnny Folsom 4! These guys kept the dance floor packed- and even made a special tribute to Katie’s parents who were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. Katie and DJ were so thoughtful that they arranged their parent’s table to be exactly the same as it was on their own wedding day. I just love these special touches!

Katie and DJ danced the night away, including- of course- the traditional Jewish Hora. The night ended with Katie singing along with the band- a dream come true for the bride (and she sounded great!). What a memorable night for a fantastic couple!
